Falling in Love with Jazz

Love makes you do the most ridiculous things. Like reading a book about psychopaths and sociopaths when you dread reading those types. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I am in love with Jasper "Jazz" Dent (not really the music genre). Unlike most pf my books, I take "I Hunt Killers" by Barry Lyga in moderation as I have a tendency to become overly paranoid. That, my friends make me do the silliest of stuffs like refusing to turn off the lights at night, jumping at the most mundane noices, and watching my back like every three seconds just to acertain that nobody's going to jump out with a knife and tell me to say goodbye to... Well, you get the picture.

Therefore, I am someone who refuses to read/watch anything that triggers those.

So when a friend of mine told me to try out Barry Lyga's I Hunt Killer's, I was like . . . .

Then she said wonderful things about the book and I was finally tempted to try it out. Because if it's really worth it, I think having some hysterics isn't so bad :-)

So due to positive reviews from someone whose book opinion I trust, I tried it out.

And It did not disappoint. I started and couldn't stop. But stopped eventually because I got a little paranoid. It's quite descriptive, and you know when they talk about body parts I was actually clutching my own to make sure they're there and safe and still intact. Ok it's a bit more gory than my usual reads, but I really like reading about Jazz and how he analyzes the scene.

And as I go farther into the story I get to know Jazz better and I get attached to his character, and I like him better, and then suddenly I being bookwhore-ish again.

Well, I am not yet done with the book, but I am going to finish it, and hopefully write more about Jazz :-)

Hoping for More Sid Sinclair: VCW Addiction Coming In

Lately I’ve been book exploring. Most of the books I’m waiting to be released won’t be released until October, and I’m desperately looking for a book that would blow my mind. You know that sort of book that gives you a sort of experience whenever you finish a super awesome read where your world gets shattered, mixed, and dragged into a hurricane, and you look around you and find everyone else is going on with their lives and you’re still stuck.

So I explored goodreads and amazon in search of that new addiction and walked into the world of The Protectors by Teresa Gabelman. I’ve read quite a few Vampire books, and I’d say this one’s pretty close to J.R. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood. Their concept is pretty similar: A group of drool worthy super hot vampire guys there to protect the world ♥. And there is also this concept of the super hot vamps finding their mate/partner in life/soul mate. I’m not going to compare the two, because they both have their perks, but I am going to say that I LOVE reading The Protector’s Series.

Ok, let’s start with an introduction to Ms. Teresa Gabelman’s world. The Protectors series is set in a world where vampires and humans co-exist. When the vampires revealed themselves to humans they got this sort of truce and agreement to help one another maintain peace and order. Humans have the human government and the police to implement order, the Vampires have the Vampire Council leading them and the Vampire Council Warriors protecting and implementing order. Together, they work hand in hand to make the world a better place :). So the story revolves around the Vampire Council Warriors aka VC Warriors. Let me just say (before I start fangirling), that this is one really wonderful read. The dialogues are witty and you just can’t help but love the characters :)

The series starts with Nicole, a social worker who finds homes for vampire kids. She’s an adorable character and I just love her attitude and her turtles Ren and Stimpy. Really one cannot help but love a woman who names her pets Ren and Stimpy (I actually laughed at these a lot Ren and Stimpy?? It’s just so freakin CUTE!). Then her boss decides to have the VC warriors help them (Nicole and Pam, and the other social workers) to defend themselves. So Damon, Duncan, and Jared head over their office to conduct self defense lessons.

Why is this post titled Hoping for More Sid Sinclair? I am getting there, I promise :)

So to fast track: Ball scene (with Nicole and Damon – yeah they end up together! Super nice!—having some sort of argument and Nicole being escorted by Jared, then Sid Sinclair coming in)

**CAN I JUST GET A MOMENT TO FAN MYSELF**

So Sid, my darling darling Sid is described as someone who looks a bit like Brad Pitt, but I’m actually imagining someone hotter *drool* Actually, at the start of the series he isn’t exposed much just defined as the guy with the bad mouth, who is the master of the kitchen, occasionally watches Rachael Ray, with a certain annoying attitude that just annoys the lot of the VC Warriors. Though Jared said he grows on you which is so TRUE!
As the story progresses and more Sid Sinclair moments pass I find myself falling in love ♥♥♥ He is so so so adorable.

I’m writing this post after reading Duncan’s story, that’s book three and that’s where I decided I LOVE HIM SO SO MUCH.

Ok, aside from him putting Sid’s Kitchen Rules (No Making out inside the kitchen) which is so a-dooorable btw, he’s a super awesome chef, and a gentleman, though most of the time his mouth gets in the way. Like the time when he told Pam and Duncan that if there’s nothing she likes (in the number of dishes he made), she only has to tell him and he’ll make it, and if he doesn’t know how to make it he’ll learn how to make it. AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW that’s just… Gosh I can’t even begin to say how nice it is to hear a guy say that (or read, in this case).

And his antics, like when reporters flood their house and Sloan (That’s the VC Warrior head btw who gets annoyed by Sid in a totally adorable kind of way) decides he couldn’t send Damon because he’d decapitate anyone (and he’s in that mood since Nicole and him just had an argument), and he couldn’t also send Jared, because he’s newly mated and couldn’t get hold of his emotions that well yet. Therefore Sloan sends Sid out to face the reporters, and he goes bragging about him being patient and goes out… and ends up dragging someone out and losing his cool anyway because he got annoyed at the way they’re referring to Pam.

And that part where Pam (pregnant) had pains and only he was around and he carried her searching for the doctor’s clinic and he told Pam to not sneeze because the baby might shoot out and I’m like laughing so much (He’s so CUTE).

I’ve been writing so much about Pam and Sid, but guys, they’re really not together. Pam’s with Duncan and Sid’s with me. Just to straighten up things

And there’s just so much more, but I have to stop here since I still have lots to do ♥♥ So right now, I’m just waiting for the next installment, which I suppose would be Slade’s (the doctor) and Jill, the half breed. Ms. Gabelman seems to ship the two of them. And I do too. :) So I’m going to wait for it and hope for more Sid Sinclair moments :)

TMI City of Bones Movie

I’ve seen it!!! It’s now showing and I’ve seen it after YEARS of waiting, it’s here!!! It’s finally here and I saw it!!! *teary eyed*
I’ve read City of Bones years ago, and ever since I’ve read it, I’ve been hooked, addicted, transferred into a world of shadowhunters and downworlders, sexy, hot, caring, funny, witty, strong, adorable Jace and all his different last names, Clary (who I think of as me ^_^ because really, it’s always CLACE and you cannot and will not split that, they’re like perfect for each other in every way, and I just love Jace and I want him to be mine like all the time, but I can’t break the two off ‘coz it’s just not right, but I want to be with Jace so I picture myself as Clary instead. It makes things so so much better ^_^ lol), Magnus, that super awesome high warlock and Alec (gosh, I also so like the two of them), Simon, the nerdy-cool otaku daywalker, and the kickass Isabel (Girl Power!).

I’ve long yearned (I never thought I’d ever use that word “yearned”) for an adaptation but was really really partly scared that if they make a movie out of it, it might turn out horrible and it might crash all my shadowhunter dreams (because really, it’s one of my super super super favorite book series, and I would hate it if anyone messed with it.)
Then, I’ve heard one of the most wonderful news (so wonderful that it actually sort of freaked me out, and freaked my friends out because I freaked out—It was that freaky) : The Mortal Instruments will be made into a movie (And the fangirl in me rejoiced!!! But the inner brain and inner heart was afraid it might turn out like the Twilight movie-no offense to Twilight fans).

Then the casting was on. And Lily Collins is Clary and then Jamie’s is Jace and then the interviews, the stills, the posters, the TRAILER, and I’m like WOW I CAN’T WAIT!!! It’s like every teaser makes my insides go rollercoaster and there is this jittery feeling I cannot ignore, but must, because the movie’s not yet showing, so I go read the books for the Nth time and wait.

So when the moment finally came, I was like

The joy I felt the moment I purchased the ticket and stepped into the cinema, gosh, I cannot even begin to explain. It’s like being hungry for a long time and finally being handed a tray of the most sumptuous meal and you just can’t help but devour every last yummy bite and ask for more.

IT WAS WORTH EVERY SECOND OF WAITING!!!

I love the cast, I love the details, I love the adaptation, I love everything about it!!!!!  Watching it makes me so proud like

So THANK YOU for giving us fangirls one of the most amazing movie adaptations ever!!!! ♥♥♥♥♥

Hello Fangirldom!!!

Let me start this by explaining how I decided to blog about books. I’m not really a total newbie when it comes to blogging. So far all I’ve been blogging about are food (because I’m a foodie), anime (yup, anime otaku here), and assorted stuffs I totally adore like coffee shops, and resto’s, and books. Then one time, I was reading Obsidian by Jennifer Armentrout where the heroine is a fangirl (like me) who also adores blogging (like me) and she’s blogging about books (This is the part, ladies and gentlemen, when I realized I was lacking something. Lol  ^_^ -- an outlet for my fangirlishness). So I sort of got inspired by  Katy and decided to tada~~~~~ make myself a blog entirely about books! Because yeah, I am admittedly a bookwhore, I love reading books and book shopping,  I am in love with A LOT of book boys, and I claim A LOT of Bookboyfriends.

Please bear with me while I fangirl over characters ♥♥♥, type too many hearts, smiley’s, KYAAAAAAAA’s and the likes, occasionally freak out over things that may or may not be nonsensical, topic shift, dream of book boyfriends, bookhop, and release the inner bookwhore in me :) :) :)
